New Balance is back with a fresh take on their iconic NB 2002R in the form of the "Protection Pack," and this time, it's unlike any of its predecessors. This latest release undergoes a utilitarian transformation, borrowing design elements typically found on hiking and trail-running shoes. The New Balance 2002R "Ripstop Protection Pack Navy" opts for a sleeker and darker navy blue shade compared to the previous "Navy Grey" colorway.

Known for its distinctive jagged lines and layered appearance, the "Protection Pack" returns with outdoor-inspired enhancements, infusing versatility and trail-ready style into the collection. This colorway features a navy blue ripstop mesh foundation reinforced with uncut suede overlays and a smooth leather tongue panel, which exposes a touch of foam. Grayscale accents decorate the iconic N logos on the sides and the heel midsole section. Additionally, black tones take over the perforated rear suede panel, adding to the overall darker aesthetic of this NB 2002R iteration. The toggle rope lacing system incorporates white speckles, providing a contrasting detail from a distance. More shades of gray dominate the cushioned ABZORB SBS midsole, while the durable Stability Web outsole rounds off the design with a robust finish.
