Taking to Instagram to make the announcement, he is well known for taking on silhouettes like the 550 and the 993, so this collection marks a first for the New York City-based fashion icon.

Unveiled in three colourways, the 2012 model will be decked out in green, red, and blue palettes for this Aime Leon Dore x New Balance pack. All three pairs are crafted from a combination of leather and mesh, and are accented with gold and silver hues throughout for an extra retro vibe. Co-branded detailing adorns the tongue and insole, and underfoot, the midsole is sculpted from ABZORB cushioning for unrivalled comfort with every step. Complementary laces wrap around each shoe, and they'll come packed in a special edition shoebox that's a worthy addition to any collection.
