The Nike Dunk Low "Hangul Day" is a Celebration of Korean Culture
Hangul Day is celebrated in South Korea on October 9th every single year. Marking the invention and proclamation of Hangul, which is essentially the Korean alphabet, it's a pretty significant event, and one that plays a huge role in the Asian country's rich culture. To commemorate the day, Nike has revealed the upcoming Nike Dunk Low "Hangul Day," and it's set to be a pretty special drop.
Taking on the sportswear company's '80s basketball shoe, this sneaker is extremely clean, with a light grey leather and suede upper that looks and feels premium. Creamy laces tie everything together, while a crisp white Swoosh glides across the lateral and medial sidewalls. Underfoot, the midsole is housed in a gum rubber unit. Not only does this offer unparalleled levels of grip, the stark contrast will also turn heads wherever you go.
Of course, you can't talk about the "Hangul Day" without mentioning all the special detailing throughout. The heels are stamped with "Nike" in Korean, and this theme extends towards the Dunk's insole and hangtag as well. All of this comes packed in a limited edition shoebox that, even if you don't celebrate the special day, you can definitely appreciate.
The Nike Dunk Low "Hangul Day" is set to release sometime in October, and while it'll most likely be an Asia-exclusive, you'll be able to secure your size right here at The Edit LDN. Let us know what you think of this colourway, and in related news, the Nike Dunk Low "Olive" is making a comeback!
