THE EDIT LDN INTERVIEWS (BRAD HOBBS)
For those who don’t already know you, how would you introduce yourself to our readers?
Hello, I’m Brad. I’ve been around for a minute in a few different industries from Music to Journalism and Retail. I’m the Store Manager at Route One London in Covent Garden, and I’m heavily involved with Legitmark, a sneaker authentication app where I produce original content and work with content creators on promotional campaigns. Check out some of my work here @legitmark
You're seen as an influencer in the sneaker space. How and when did you first start growing your instagram presence? Did you ever imagine that you would have built up the following you have now?
Thats a good question, I never really think about it anymore... but I've been on Instagram pretty much from the start back in 2010 and have continued to use the platform in various different career paths over the years which has gained me traction across the board. At the start it was pretty impressive to get 100+ likes on a post from people I had no idea who they were and gradually as I got the hang of developing my ideas I had some idea that I was growing but really wasn’t aware to what extent it has got to today.
Do you consciously try to push out certain content that resonates with your image or content thats trending at that current moment?
I used to for sure but now I am very relaxed with what I post. I mostly shoot from an idea and post my daily life via my story and my feed is very minimal. As of 2021 I’ve slowed down on posting and regularly use story’s to show everything. I guess to answer your question directly, I'm more subconscious in posting.
What initially sparked your passion for sneakers and streetwear fashion?
My initial spark came from Skateboarding which has been a huge part of my life since 2002/2003. It started with the pro models from és footwear & Adio Footwear which you may not of heard of, but for me those were a huge spark in expression and style watching skate videos. It moved on from the classics into Nike 6.0 and Nike SB which is now my main lane for sneakers that I love. With the influence from skate films like Girl & Chocolate and classics from the East and West coast, my love for fashion also grew from that, cords, shirts a crisp white t-shirt.
Looking back, what have been some big highlights in your career as of yet?
Damn, I mean there has been a lot of personal highlights. Over the past 12 years I’ve moved around a lot for work, which has put me in some unforgettable situations and locations around the world. I worked on multiple projects for Apple and had some photos in National Geographic which is a pretty high-level achievement that I’m proud of. After moving back to London in June 2021, I was tasked with opening a new store from scratch, which has been fulfilling for me. As of recent, we had Future and his crew shopping at my store, Route One, which blew my mind as it wasn’t planned (I’m a big future fan).
If you had to choose three words to describe your style sense, what would they be and why?
Oh god,
Minimal - I love Scandinavian design and my style I've grown to reflect my environment at home.
Relaxed - I like to feel relaxed and not confined or awkward in my style so most of my clothing is slightly larger for me but not to an oversized look, just more unfitted if that makes sense.
Comfortable - I'm always either at the store or working from home so I like to be in a comfortable mood no matter where I am. Recently I’ve really got into wool trousers for the winter or quilted trousers which is a whole new level of comfort I would highly recommend to anyone.
Are you a fan of the Yeezy Gap collaboration and what are you general thoughts on Ye West?
I'm a big Kanye fan, not so much the Yeezy footwear side of things but I’ve loved his Yeezy Seasons on clothing and the Gap collab is something I'm looking at for future pick ups for sure. Respect to Mr West, he has always been ahead of the curve in music and fashion.
What are you hoping to see in the sneaker market for 2022 and if you could create a new trend for this year what would it be?
More retro’s I love when Nike bring back some old classics. New trends hmmm I'm really not that way inclined but I would really like to see more people wearing SB’s and not keeping them in a box :-(
In your opinion, which do you prefer; Jordan 1’s or Jordan 4’s, and why?
Jordan 4's were my first love of Jordans but as I’ve grown I'm going to say Jordan 1's, simply due to such a wearable and classic silhouette.

As seen on your instagram you feature mainly sneakers, but if you could pick two items from The Edit LDN’s clothing collection what would they be?
I'm going to go with what we just spoke about...
1) Yeezy Gap hoody in Brown or Blue
2) That CPFM Ye hoodie.
If you could only wear one Nike silhouette, which one would you choose and why?
Dunks all day. (no reason needed)
Furthermore, if you could only pick two options in this silhouette from The Edit LDN site, which two are you going for?
NIKE DUNK HIGH LIGHT CHOCOLATE
NIKE SB DUNK HIGH CARPET COMPANY
And finally, is there anything cool you wish to tell us for your plans going forward? Whats on your bucket list for 2022?
I’m excited about what Legitmark has planned for 2022, and I’m even more excited to be a part of a group of people that are so passionate about what they do day by day. We’re working on disrupting sneaker authentication for good, and we’re just getting started. You can follow along on our Instagram @legitmark or download the app Here.
I'm sure a lot of you are expecting me to spill some T on upcoming releases at the store which I'm not going to do, but keep your notifications on :)
