The Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Mid "Graffiti" Blurs the Line Between Sneakers and Art
Ever since Virgil Abloh's untimely passing back in November 2021, the sneaker landscape just hasn't felt the same. One of the industry's most influential names, not only did architect-turned-fashion designer take charge of Louis Vuitton's menswear division, his own Off-White imprint left quite a mark in the trainer game as well. With that said, it looks like he's set to combine both of these brands this season with the Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Mid "Graffiti" - and we're taking an on-foot look thanks to these fresh shots from Yankee Kicks.
One of the last projects that he worked on with Nike, this special collaboration celebrates 40 years since Bruce Kilgore officially revealed the Air Force 1 to the world. Offered in a crisp "Triple White" colourway, it's crafted from a smooth leather construction and is equipped with a bunch of cool design details throughout. From the Dunk-inspired lacing system to the transparent Swoosh branding, all of this sits on top of a spiky Air midsole that nods back to Abloh's previous collections.
Of course, you can't talk about the "Graffiti" without mentioning the, well, graffiti. Making its way the lateral panel, "Off-White" is spray painted in a blue gradient and outlined in black and purple hues. While this may seem a little off brand, Virgil recently applied this menacing makeover to some of his LV x Nike Air Force 1s that dropped earlier this summer.
Expected to release before the year's end, the Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Mid "Graffiti" may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's still a pretty cool collaboration. For the latest news and updates surrounding this colourway, make sure you keep it locked at The Edit LDN!
