During his college years at the University of North Carolina, Michael Jordan was part of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity founded in 1911. This was the first fraternal organization founded at a historically black university. MJ was even seen in pictures throwing up the frat’s signature ‘hooks’ and represented by wearing the fraternities’ tees. Jordan Brand honoured Michael Jordan's time as a member of one of the most historic African American college fraternities hence “Brotherhood”

The brotherhood Jordan 1 takes its styling cues from the Omega Psi Phi crest; being seen in vibrant University Gold, purple, and white. This OG colour blocking is one which many will love, resembling that of the Jordan 1 High Court Purple 1.0 and Jordan 1 High Bred Toe. The iconic woven Nike tongue label and Wings logo at the collar completes the design.
