With similar colour blocking to that of the Air Jordan 1 High Shadow, the Air Jordan 1 Retro High Rebellionaire is inspired by the 1985 “Banned” commercial. The Rebellionaire pays homage to the infamous “ban” the NBA placed on the Nike Air Ship “Banned” sneakers MJ wore in 1984, which he was fined $5,000 for every time he wore them as the colours didn’t adhere to the league's uniform rules. This Air Jordan 1 features an all-over print that reads “They Can’t Stop You From Wearing Them”. At the base, a white and grey Air sole is used whilst a red “X” is positioned on the heels of this model. The leather Swooshes, heel tab, ankle collar and perforated toe are also completed in the all-over print but in white.
